The making of Software Advertising: Electronic Robinson (Cómo se hizo Publicidad del Software: Robinson Electrónico)

Continuing with the design of packaging for software, I decided to make a package of an educational software. Samuel Robinson, better known as Simón Rodríguez, was the teacher of Simón Bolívar, and who formed their character. That is why I put in the packaging this important datum:

Samuel Robinson turned a misbehaved and mischievous child into the liberator of five nations: Simón Bolívar.
Imagine what this software will do with your child!

The idea was to make a cheerful packaging, with children's drawings and letters from many colors to express the infantile creativity. At the same time, it should reflect the school rigor, that's why I placed a sheet of notebook as a frame of reference for all the elements.

The Making of Software Advertising: Electronic Bolívar (Cómo se hizo Publicidad del Software: Bolívar Electrónico )

I started realizing this Electronic Bolivar with the idea of an old series of television of the 80s of the 20th century: Max Headroom. Using the image of the new Bolivar, made with 3D software, I have created this own version to represent to an Electronic Bolivar, Image 1.

The idea was to make the packaging of an imaginary software, where the process of independence of Venezuela is narrated. The date on the package, "2021", refers to the 200 years of the Battle of Carabobo. In this battle was definitively sealed the independence of Venezuela. Image 2.

The making of Cloud with Candy Stick in the Asshole Cómo se hizo Nube con Pirulí en el Culo

I read recently an article about sexual preferences of the youth in a magazine dedicated to that sector of the population. Between the confidences it was of a 16-year-old girl who was feeling great pleasure when his boyfriend was introducing a Candy Stick in the backside.  I won't go into detail as to the how and the why of this fact. The truth is that it was a July day with quite a few clouds in the sky. I raised the head and it seemed to me to see, in a cloud especially, the youngster with the candy lodged at his spectacular backside. Then it became clear in my mind the rest of his body, breasts, legs and her amazing hairstyle. "Here is an interesting illustration", I thought. And it cost me little take it to the paper.

I decided to use a drawing style "Cartoon" that will represent this strong idea with a childlike. Of way of achieving a license in the spectator and of reducing to the minimum the scandalous thing. The characters that surround the mischievous girl, show different emotions: surprise in the Rainbow, shame on the Sun and sarcasm in the cloud. I drew expressions of old already discontinued chat and messaging system.

“He aquí una ilustración interesante”, pensé.

The Two Faces of The Moon (Las Dos Caras de La Luna)

Title (Título): The Two Faces of The Moon (Las Dos Caras de La Luna)
Dimensions (Dimensiones): 1294 x 1000 pixels
Medium (Técnica): Digital Media (Arte Digital)
Year (Año): 2013

The “Two Faces of the Moon” is inspired by two books. One is "The “Moon Is a Harsh Mistress”, a 1966 Science fFction novel by American writer Robert A. Heinlein, about a lunar colony's revolt against rule from Earth. Widely admired for its credible presentation of a comprehensively imagined future human society on both the Earth and the moon. it is considered one of Heinlein's major novels as well as one of the most important Science Fiction novels ever written.

The other book is “Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent” (in Spanish Las Venas Abiertas de América Latina), written by Uruguayan journalist, writer and poet Eduardo Galeano, and published in 1971. In the book Galeano analyzes the history of Latin America as a whole, from the time period of the European settlement of the New World to contemporary Latin America, describing the effects of European and later United States economic exploitation and political dominance over the region.

In my work one sees to the moon with his two faces. One face of adaptation and. Other of rebellion. Spanish galleons, like the space ships that travel from the Earth to the Moon represent the political and economic domination elements described by Heinlein and Galeano.
